12/11/2007: "The History mystery Animation Cel"

sutherland-sml.jpgThe PBS show History Detectives has an investigation on their hands and is calling for help! The show is trying to identify the character in a mystery cel and any information about where it came from. Although the cel has been sent around a host of animation experts, no one has been able to shed much light besides revealing: the cel was most likely from a TV commercial or industrial film; it may have been a product of John Sutherland Productions; it is likely from the early 1950s (based on markings on the cel); it might possibly have been from an early, little-known black and white version of Make Mine Freedom (though many doubt this). Follow the “More” link to view a complete scan and if it rings any bells, please email us via the Contacts links at the top of this page!
