11/08/2007: "Twelve films submitted for animated Oscar"
Twelve films have been submitted for consideration for the Best Animated Film category of the 80th Academy Awards:
Alvin and the Chipmunks, Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters, Bee Movie, Beowulf, Meet the Robinsons, Persepolis, Ratatouille, Shrek the Third, The Simpsons Movie, Surf’s Up, Tekkonkinkreet, and TMNT
Three films (Alvin and the Chipmunks, Beowulf, and Persepolis) have not yet had their required Los Angeles qualifying run. All the submitted films must be found to fulfill the rules and requirements for an animated feature before they will be allowed to move on in the voting process. Because less than 16 animated films were submitted there will be only three nominees in the category this year.
