Variety reports that Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences will deliver “A Salute to the National Film Board of Canada” on October 27 to honor Canadian animated shorts. The event, hosted by animation critic and historian Charles Solomon, will celebrate more than five decades of the NFB’s Oscar-nominated and winning pics with screenings of their acclaimed films such as Neighbours (1952), Walking (1969), Bob’s Birthday (1993), Ryan (2004) and The Danish Poet (2006).
