01/03/2008: "Disney musicals set records in last week of 2007"

dtp-logo.jpgBroadwayWorld.com reports that Disney Theatrical Productions’ three shows currently running on Broadway all set box office records for the week ending December 30, 2007. The Lion King, a six time Tony award winner now in its tenth year, set a new record at the Minskoff Theatre with $1,571,937. Mary Poppins set a record at the New Amsterdam Theatre with $1,465,793. And The Little Mermaid, now in previews with its official opening scheduled for January 10th, set a new record at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre with $1,325,391.
