05/12/2008: "Speed Racer takes second place"
Box Office Mojo reports that the live-action adaption of the animated television series Speed Racer has come in at number two in the results of this weekend’s box office take. The film made $20,210,000 with an average of $5,604 per theater. Speed Racer came behind Iron Man, which took in $50,500,000 in its second weekend, but fared better than the newly released What Happens In Vegas, which totaled $20,000,000. Speed Racer opened in theaters last Friday.
