03/03/2004 Archives: "Triplets Of Belleville on DVD: worth holding out for later release?"

belleville-fr-se (20k image)We've just heard a rumor from a good source within the animation industry that a later, as yet unannounced Canadian DVD version of Sylvain Chomet's The Triplets Of Belleville may be the disc release to wait for. The American issue, due May 4th, does not contain the original French-language version of the film, and drops several extras from the French region 2 double-disc Special Edition set. Now there is some talk that the dual-language Canadian edition will feature both original and English versions of the film, with all the extras from the French 2-disc SE included in both languages too. As usual with such releases, there may be multi-lingual packaging to bear, but it sounds as if it could be worth the wait!
