06/15/2004 Archives: "Animated Star Trek teleporting to DVD"

TV Shows on DVD, via Toon Zone, reveals that Filmation's Star Trek: The Animated Series, the first Star Trek spin-off, could be released on DVD in 2005. "Plans are...underway for a DVD box-set of Star Trek: The Animated Series, with commentaries from cast and writers," states David Gerrold, a writer on both the animated and original Star Trek incarnations, in his weblog. The series, airing first in 1973, has been previously released on VHS and laser disc.
