01/04/2005 Archives: "First Look At A Scanner Darkly"

Freeze Dried Movies has the first image of Richard Linklater's new rotoscope film, A Scanner Darkly, the image is a scan taken from the February 2005 issue of Premier Magazine, which previews the films of 2005. A Scanner Darkly is based on the Phillip K. Dick's novel of the same name, and stars Keanu Reeves. The film is Linklater's follow-up to his previous rotoscope film, 2001's Waking Life, Linklater also wrote the screenplay. A Scanner Darkly is scheduled for release on September 16, the film will likely be in limited release, as it is distributed by Warner Independent Pictures.
