07/11/2005 Archives: "Celebs and non-celebs are giddy over Goofy"

To celebrate Disneyland's 50th anniversary on July 17, Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts hired the independent research firm Directive Analytics to conduct a "Golden Ears" survey. Sent to forty-five actors, musicians and athletes, the poll revealed that 20% of those surveyed most identify with the animated character Goofy, including John Stamos, Kelsey Grammer and Jim Belushi. Meanwhile, such celebrities as David Arquette, Peyton Manning and Terry Bradshaw picked Donald Duck as their toon favorite. When it came to non-celebrities, 15% of 8,000 consumer respondents also chose the cartoon canine Goofy as the Disney character they relate to the most. Guardian Unlimited has more results from the "Golden Ears" survey.
