10/07/2006 Archives: "Hawaiian schools gets animated"

Leeward Community College is now just one of the educational facilities in Hawaii sporting a "state-of-the-art animating computer system." TheHawaiiChannel.com writes that the Animation Render Farm Project is allowing students at these schools to create computer animation similar to that seen in big screen efforts. "We really want to empower them to build their own companies to create their own animation, their own stories that speak to a global audience, and I think Hawaii can become a center of production," explains movie director and Academy for Creative Media director Chris Lee.
