Re: D23 2024 - The Ultimate Disney Fan Event

Yes, the "Disney" part has lost all meaning, but it's still a neat group of people and makes for a nice tribute nonetheless.

D23 2024 - The Ultimate Disney Fan Event

This year's event will be held during my birthday weekend in August. I'm planning to go, as part of a larger California trip, and my son will likely come along for some of it this time (while my wife waits patiently in the hotel room). This time, we'll for sure also hit the parks before and after. I...

Re: DC Universe

Could be awesome. We shall see. I was a big fan of the comics in the 80s.

Re: Disney Movie Rewards

Right. Canadian DMI shows no exclusives from DMC.

Re: Disney Movie Rewards

DMI just brought in a bunch of 4K and BD releases - bilingual cover versions, of course.

Re: Oscar Contest 2024

Oppenheimer seems to be the consensus choice for Best Pic, and Nolan also likely takes it. I don't like the idea of Cillian winning, as it really wasn't a showy role, but the Oppie train may be hard to stop. Personally, I'd love to see Giamatti take home a trophy. I like Stone to win for Best Actres...

Re: The New DVD and Blu Thread

The thread rises from the dead! Nice job! Feels like visiting an old friend I had forgotten about. :D I am definitely in the same boat. I am at the point where my collection is "mature." I have what I want, and it is getting pretty hard to surprise or delight me with disc announcements. So many anno...

Oh, good. That's the one other nominee I'm most interested in checking out. Sounds right up my alley.

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

I really enjoyed Moon Knight, too. It was a slice of something different, and well acted. Falcon and Winter Soldier was a fun watch, though it lacked a sensical antagonist. I loved Andor--- maybe the best Star Wars has EVER been. Obi-Wan had its moments, but overall I found it extremely lacking in p...

Re: Oscar Contest 2024

I just submitted my totally uninformed picks. Having only seen Spidey and Oppenheimer, I didn't have much to go on.

Re: Looney Tunes Golden/Platinum Collections

Even Thad, often a grump, mostly praises the discs, and accepts them for what they are - which is mostly pretty great.

Thad reviews Volume 3:

I've been watching Volume 1, and am very impressed with how great these look. Just ordered Volume 2 yesterday, but think I'm even more looking forward to the odd mix of Volume 3.
