Re: Avatar Netflix Live Action Series!
I finished it. Better than I expected but not as good as I'd hoped. Felt rushed since they skipped so much. But they definitely got the feel of the original down. I think it's a fun watch for those familiar with the cartoon. But newcomers should skip this and watch the original

Re: The Fairly OddParents
When I told my daughter about this news (she was a big fan of the show when she was a child) her response was: "They need to let fairly oddparents die theyve already beat the poor thing to death"!

Re: Avatar Netflix Live Action Series!
I've watched the first three episodes so far. Episode 1 was a little heavy handed with exposition. The cartoon trusted kids to figure out what was going on more that this episode did! Editing was a little weird too. By the end it had got its footing and hooked me in. Episode 2 was great. Exactly wha...

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Quote from one of the reviews: "I almost admire the sheer lack of effort on display in the acting, storytelling, and set pieces. To say that Johnson in particular phoned this performance in would be an insult to Alexander Graham Bell."

Re: Goodbye Noggin
The Noggin television channel started up right around the time my first child was born. It was a staple in our house for years. It transitioned to an online only service a few years ago. Sad to hear it's going away completely.

This all could be just Disney playing nice with theatres after a few years of upsetting them.

To be fair, three of them saw a version of it: "Zaslav never saw the movie at all. De Luca and Abdy saw a 'director’s cut,' and Damaschke saw the first audience preview."

Re: 96th Oscar Nominations
Nope. They just announced it's going wide this May ! What's amazing about this film is that they were going to have Cartoon Saloon do the animation but when they pulled out because of Covid, the filmmakers created a single-use "pop-up" animation studio from scratch! More about that here: https://www...

Re: Upcoming animated films calendar and date changes
I was off the site for the last few months of 2023 so it got behind. Happy to be back and love doing the calendar! Made an update to the web version too, with studio logos on the films with no posters yet, rather than the AV logos that used to be placeholders.

Re: Illumination's Migration
I really liked Ferdinand too. Migration was not on the same level. Again, not bad, just a basic kids story done well.
