I guess the buyer might very well be Disney.

Does that mean that Pixar will keep creative control over projects?

What about Roy Disney's relationship with Pixar? Will he be their "consultant" or something if there is a merger?

Also what kind of power would Steve Jobs have if he's chairman?

I think there is confusion here as to how much input Disney had in Pixar's movies.

Basically, the first Toy Story was completely a Disney film, animated and with much input from Pixar. But it was boarded and posted at Disney's, with all the story mapped out there at Burbank.

A studio space was developed for Toy Story to be made, which saw Pixar leap off on their own, with A Bug's Life their first true production (note the "Disney's Toy Story" tag orginally on that film, while Bug's Life had the "Disney/Pixar" badge to reflect the startup's growing power).

After A Bug's Life, Pixar has gone it alone, with only screenings and notes coming from high up on the Disney board. Essentially though, Pixar has "final cut" and makes their own product without input from Disney at all.
