Will pixar stay actually? Or will they be combined into 1 company with a new name or something? I hope they will stay seperate! But this is really GREAT news!

Pixar will still make their very own Pixar movies at their studio in Northern California. But they will also help to strengthen the Disney Feature Animation division.

All I'm wondering is, now that disney and pixar are one company, will pixar's movies still have the fanfare at the beginning? After hearing it 4 or 5 movies in a row, you kinda get used to it, ya know?

Actually, and more seriously, I think this more than anything is perhaps the culmination of what was started in Philadeplphia in 2004.

If there's anything that cements the ending of "the Eisner era", it's the joining forces with his old enemy Jobs and the partnership with Pixar under new boss Bob Iger.

I have been impressed with Iger so far, and think that he has his priorities straight. This could mean that Disney is "back", better than ever...

The potential is now there.

I still have my doubts.

This could mean that all of Disney's films, like "Rapunzel", end up feeling like Pixar comedies.

But I'll try to keep my hopes up.

I expect that Lassiter will see a broader pallete open to him. I still expect Rapunzel to be the Rapunzel we all want Disney to make.

I don't want to see Disney movies turn into Pixar movies either. But I do believe Ed Catmull and John Lasseter can help out at Disney Feature Animation.

What the Incredibles showed us is that PIXAR let completely the direcotor do HIS movie in the way HE conceived it. What Disney failed to do (thanks Stainton) as many aborted projects sadly demonstrate: Fraidy Cat, Fantasia 2006....

I've faith tha Catmull andLasseter will let the directors at Disney do their movie with no interferring by the marketing team and the toys sellers...

I just hope that if they still do Toy Story 3, it will be Lasseter and Co.'s original conception of it rather than Disney's idea.

Yes, Disney started working on it but the Pixar people definitely had some ideas for it as well. It could still turn out to be quite good.

I'm sure if they made Toy Story 3, it would be good, but I'd rather they moved on to different things.

Lasseter says that if they do make TS3, it would be about Jessie.

BTW...Am I the only one who thinks Jessie is a bit...schizophrenic?
