Sure does Jeroen! I just Disney would give it a world wide release date, not releasing 2-3 months later in some countries and a day earlier like Chile!

the only reprieve for me is that I might have the chance to see it at the Australian Premiere on Aug 13 with Brad Bird!!

Waow! Pixar really is ahead of the competition. This preview is just awesome. The mise en scène is great in the first scene! Look at the lightenning! The textures! Remy's fur, the water!!!! Incredible! Can't wait!

9-min preview:

Not completely sold on all aspects of the score...the smaller instances are much better than the brasyy bombastic stuff.

Love the look and the golden glow, which we've seen in other previews but which really comes out here.

Great direction and editing and absolutely wonderful animation, especially where Rat passes the soup and can't help himself add more ingredients. Although there's some really nice character moments where Bird and the team could have eaily overplayed this, it's all done in one master shot and some of those touches get a little lost...but in a very good way, and intentionally so.

Most importantly, and apart from the one great line ("I am a figment of your imagination"), the whole chase sequence plays out without words. If this is what Pixar can do with a rat in a restaurant, imagine what they'll achieve with WALL-E in a couple of years' time...

This could be the best Pixar movie so far (just amazing little things like Remy's heart beating under the bridge), but my one worry is that we've just seen the best action scene and most emotional moments in the pocture and the rest will be mostly kitchen comedy...even if it is with wit and invention.

DARN! Gotta wait until OCTOBER!?!!!?? Just not fair! :(
